Mid 2021…

It’s been about a year since I last wrote. Our bathrooms were finally finished and life has kinda started going back to normal.

We went to South Padre for Aunt Chelsea and Jimmy’s wedding and you loved getting to spend time with your cousins and time on the beach. You talk about it even still, almost a year later. We also went with G and Pappy to Build-a-Bear for your annual birthday bear.

For Christmas, we went to Florida and met Grandma and Grandpapa and Uncle Josh and Uncle Lance. Great Grandpa had passed away a few months prior and we went to spend Christmas with Great Grandma Suzy and have the funeral. You didn’t appreciate having to be still or quiet during it but you did well enough for a 6 year old.

We got to make our first trip back to Missouri in May of this year for daddy’s birthday. It was our first trip there since Christmas 2019 when we spent a week there over Christmas and New Year’s. You loved going camping and have so much playing in the trees and with the other dogs.

You have loved spending time with our dog Sasha, even though you’re a little mean to her sometimes, it’s normal kids stuff. You tell anyone who will listen what kind of dog she is “German Shepherd mix.”

You are now in 2nd grade in school. You are so smart for your age and don’t seem to mind at all that you do school all year long. You enjoy your breaks but thrive during the school year.

We have also started taking you to Sonny and Rainee’s house on Saturday nights so you can go with them to Sunday school Sunday morning, you love it!

I love you so much little girl and I cannot wait to see what you do next…

Pandemic Times

We are in weird times and you just roll with the punches. Shortly after we had all our friends over, the whole world shut down for the Coronavirus. You didn’t even seem to mind having to stay home all the time, at the beginning you missed church but then when we could go back, you didn’t want to.

There are a lot of other things that have been happening we haven’t even had to talk to you about because you’re a kid, and don’t have a mean bone in your body. I want to raise you to not care about color or anything else. You are so smart.

Every day you dislike having to do math. You are so smart but don’t appreciate how long it takes.

You are also enjoying Danny coming over to work on our bathrooms. He’s only been here a couple of days but you want to know when he’s coming each morning.

I cannot wait to see how you grow up, how smart you become, what you want to be.

I love you.

Having Fun

You had a lot of fun yesterday. We had some people over to hang out while Uncle Josh was in town. You had fun playing with Declan and “the sisters” and played outside most of the day.

But by the end of it you were SUPER tired and needed to go to sleep. You got mad cause apparently someone took a stick from you. Not entirely sure, you were so worked up it was hard to understand what you were saying.

You are such a beautiful and sassy little girl. I very much enjoy watching you grow up. You have purple hair currently and you love it!

We just started unit 2 in 1st grade this week. You are doing a really good job but you still don’t like math. You are pretty good at it but it takes a long time to do, I think that’s what you don’t like.

You love having your Uncle Josh here, you count down the days until he is going to be here.

And you are super excited we are about to get a puppy…as soon as they can make our fence dog proof.

I love you little girl.

First Stomach Bug

I can’t believe you made it to 5 years old before we had to deal with a stomach bug. You woke up 2 mornings ago around 4:30 and threw up on the bed. Then you seemed fine the rest of the day but you did not eat or drink as much as normal.

Yesterday you woke up at 5am and threw up in the trash can we had left on your bed “just in case.” Well, just in case happened and you threw up pretty much every hour for most of the day. Towards evening it started spacing itself out. You and I slept in the living room just in case it decided to continue through the night.

I am super tired today but I am so glad you seem to be not throwing up anymore. We’ll try some food once you wake up but, you were awesome through everything. You didn’t complain a lot, you just wanted to know why it kept happening. When I started talking about germs and tummy bugs you were convinced you could feel the bug moving around in your tummy.

I love you so much. Only because I love you so much was I willing to clean your trash can out time after time all day long. You are beautiful! Hopefully this doesn’t happen anytime soon!

Rocking 1st Grade

We started 1st grade this week and you are rocking it. You weren’t super fond of the extra 3 subjects on the first day but you are doing awesome. I cannot wait to see all the awesome things you will accomplish in your life. I hope that I am around to see everything but if not, know that I will always love you sweet girl.

You Finished Kindergarten!

I cannot believe my baby finished kindergarten today. You are so grown up! You finished the last of your math problems by yourself.

We will be starting 1st grade on Monday. You seem to do better when we keep learning so we rarely take a break for more than a week.

You learn more every day. As I write this, you are playing Dragons on your tablet. You love that game. You might be watching the show, whichever it is I hear Hiccup talking.

You have been in the same pair of pajamas for almost the entire week. After a long time of not wanting to wear some, you begged me to be able to wear jammies to bed. So we bought you a couple of pairs that you picked out yourself.

You have the cutest laugh and smile. You always ask us why we are tickling you, it’s because we are addicted to that laugh.

I love you and I cannot wait to start this next chapter in your school work!

Almost Done with Kindergarten

You are in your last week of Kindergarten. You learn so fast. We will jump straight into 1st grade next week. You love Language Arts and hate Math. You are good at both.

You love dancing. You watched me sign on the stage at church over advent this last year and you pretended like you were doing signs too. Yesterday we started watching Signing Time! so you can learn some signs as well. You actually did really well copying what they were doing.

You got a TON of Lego’s for Christmas and they are spread all over the living room. You want daddy to build a castle and house and everything with you.

You turned 5 a couple of months ago and now you are always talking about “When I turn 6.” You think everything is going to happen as soon as you turn 6.

I love watching you grow. I love watching you get older and learn things.

I love you so much.

Terrible Two’s

I have not written in a while. You are growing into a beautiful young child. You have gotten it in your head that you want your hair up all the time. First thing in the morning you will come in to eat breakfast in your high chair and tell me “Hair up mommy.” Most days you want the hair down almost immediately but I love doing it all the same.

You have also started growing your vocabulary. Now you can answer general questions. You do like the word “No” a lot. That’s just a toddler thing.

I can’t wait to start school with you in September. You will be almost 3 at the time but I think you can handle starting this year. You will love doing the different activities.

I just wanted you to know that mommy and daddy love you.

Sweet Girl

Last night you were slightly upset, I think you were getting tired. You came over to me so I picked you up to cuddle with you. You had the best time just laying on my tummy, you kept playing and making silly faces. I cannot believe the little girl you are becoming. I am trying my best to mold you into a wonderful person, I hope that you will continue to be the sweet little girl you can be.
